Welcome to the Blueprints for Language Education Conference for WITESOL! We have a changed format this year with a Thursday evening and all day Friday conference. Students learning another language have a plan of action to follow. The objectives & tasks used by each student, family and community vary a great deal. The blueprint for each educator is unique to their situation and that of their students. As students acquire language and academic content knowledge actions change and grow. Teachers must be equipped to facilitate the linguistic, cultural and educational strategies that English Language Learners navigate. This conference will focus on the how to plan with continual changes and what materials & procedures one needs to use to best facilitate learning. It will present practical strategies & theoretical frameworks for instruction connected to language, culture, and community in our educational systems, from Pre-K through 12th grade, higher education and adult education.
